IN THE LIGHT

The brainchild of long-time Led Zeppelin enthusiast John Maysenhoelder. Noticing a certain Page-esc quality to guitar player Derek-Paul Labelle’s playing style; in late 2003 John began teasing the idea of creating a Led Zeppelin Tribute.

Another local rising talent,  Mike Mayrand, had performed alongside Labelle and Maysenholder in earlier projects and was steadily developing his budding voice when the offer to join a Led Zeppelin tribute came through. In October of 2004, with the addition of award winning drummer Martin Renaud, In the Light was born. Since its initial inception, In the Light has performed in an eclectic number of venues across Quebec. The band has achieved a level of performance, appearance, and sound that is head and shoulders above the competition. To date, many die hard Led Zeppelin fans have been astonished by the live performance of In the Light. Astoundingly, some shows have lasted close to four hours without an intermission!

In the Light sounds like Led Zeppelin because they use the same musical instruments that were used by Led Zeppelin: Jimmy Page’s ’59 Les Paul, John Paul Jones’s 8-String Alembic bass, John Henry Bonham’s Ludwig VistaLites. Add to that each member’s heavily blues based background, gives In the Light a truly authentic quality

Make no mistake. This is not your average cover band trying to fake it. They do it for real.
Zep played like it was meant to be.
